New Board Members

Several months ago I wrote about NKTA's desire to find new board members. Two people have volunteered - Debbie Weinmann and Sandee Watson.

Sandee Watson joined the NKTA Board in October. She is a Washington native and has lived in Indianola for more than 20 years. As a regular user of the Heritage Park and Port Gamble trail systems, Sandee joined the board to contribute to its work toward preserving, growing and improving the community trail systems so they can be enjoyed by runners, hikers, birders, equestrians and cyclists for generations to come. Outside of NKTA Sandee works in Poulsbo as a professional liability insurance broker for architects and engineers.

Debbie joined the NKTA Board in November. Debbie has lived in Poulsbo for over 20 years and enjoys extreme day hiking, trail running, or mountain biking when not working as a middle school teacher. She says, "Along with my husband and two grown daughters we have spent countless hours enjoying the peacefulness, beauty, and solitude of the local trails. Being a part of the NKTA board will give me an opportunity to contribute to the conservation of public land in the North Kitsap area for future generations. It matters, and I am grateful to be a part of this endeavor."

NKTA welcomes new volunteers at all times and offers an array of positions for people with varying skills and time commitments. We still need new board members, especially a secretary; help with communications (writing articles, sending media messages, etc.); someone to help coordinate volunteers and lots of help with trail maintenance. Anyone who shares our appreciation of the great outdoors and wants to get involved is encouraged to join us! If you or any one you know shares Sandee's and Debbie's passion to improve the North Kitsap's recreation and conservation needs and would like to share your time, talents and/or muscle go to to find out more about us or contact Evan Stoll at This email address is being protected from spambots.
